On average, 3,500 trucks travel to the EUROGATE Group's container terminals in Germany every day to deliver or pick up containers. However, the previous access authorization in the form of a plastic card, the so-called trucker card, will soon have had its day, as EUROGATE will replace this form of authentication for its terminals with a new, completely digital solution in the short term.
In cooperation with CONROO, a specialist in digital handling at container terminals, depots and warehouses, EUROGATE has developed the 'digital trucker card, 'which works as an app solution on all common mobile devices and comprises the entire process, from registration and verification to route planning and on-site instructions. With this app solution, the complex and paper-intensive administrative process for registration becomes obsolete. At the same time, the processing of travel orders is significantly facilitated and accelerated through early information and comparisons regarding the gate and the lanes. For this purpose, the DAKOSY slot booking process, which is already being used in Hamburg and Bremerhaven, is also being integrated into the digital trucker card.
One of the main new features and reasons for introducing this solution is the significantly increased security throughout the process at EUROGATE container terminals.
The new 'Digital Trucker Card” app solution will be gradually introduced at all EUROGATE Group terminal locations in Germany from the beginning of 2024. More detailed information on the start dates and changes in the existing process will be published separately for the respective locations at a later date.
