Eurogate starts digital verification of truck drivers

Eurogate operates container terminals in five countries in Europe and North Africa. The digital “Gate Pass” solution from CONROO enables port logisticians to identify truck drivers at the pick-up or delivery location and thus ensures arrival and departure without time delays.

The previous access authorization, the analog “trucker card”, will lose its validity at the Eurogate location in Hamburg from May 2, 2024 and will be replaced by the CONROO “Gate Pass”. Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven follow immediately, as well as other international Eurogate locations.

“By introducing the ConRoo solution across locations, we are setting new standards. But this also sends a signal to other maritime and hinterland terminals. Everyone can ultimately benefit from the more efficient exchange of information along the entire supply chain,” explains Michael Blach, Chairman of the Group Management Board of the EUROGATE Group.

The fully digital “gate pass” not only ensures greater efficiency, but also significantly more security throughout terminal operations. The app solution works on all common mobile devices and covers the entire process, from registration to fully digital driver verification to Dakosy trip planning (TR02) and on-site instructions. The special feature:

As a special feature, the system has numerous interfaces for the integration of all players involved along the logistics chain. This includes TMS, platforms such as DriveMyBox, and depots and warehouses. In doing so, CONROO always acts as an independent and neutral partner with regard to the location of use.

With the “Gate Pass”, the complex and paper-intensive administrative process for registering truck drivers becomes obsolete. At the same time, the processing of travel orders is significantly facilitated and accelerated through early information and comparisons regarding the gate and the lanes.

For drivers, this means fewer lines and waiting times, more time for other orders and more safety, as it is no longer necessary to leave the truck — except for the loading process — at the terminal. In doing so, Eurogate and CONROO are making a contribution to greater sustainability and safety along the supply chain.
