App instead of plastic: Eurogate abolishes access cards in cooperation with handling specialist Conroo. To authenticate at container terminals, around 3,500 trucks a day will soon be using the so-called Digital Trucker Card, which works as an app on all mobile devices.
The solution makes the complex paper-based registration process superfluous and speeds up travel orders because it informs drivers early on about gates and lanes and thus makes orientation significantly easier. According to the company, the Dakosy slot booking process, which is already being used in Hamburg and Bremerhaven, is also integrated into the digital trucker card.
The new solution also ensures greater security in the inflow process at Eurogate container terminals. The app solution will be gradually introduced at all German terminal locations of the group of companies from the beginning of 2024. The entire terminal network that Eurogate operates in cooperation with Contship Italia includes 12 container terminals from the North Sea to the Mediterranean Sea.
The Conroo solution is available to all terminal and depot operators and the app is already in use at many locations, including Deutsche Bahn and Bayernhafen terminals. (loe)
