Quick processing at Eurogate: mobile app replaces trucker card

For truckers who deliver or pick up containers at the terminal, things should be faster in the future: Access rights at Eurogate will be regulated with a digital passport. First in Hamburg, then also in Bremerhaven.

For the project, the handling company Eurogate worked with Conroo, which has already tested its app solution at other terminals and depot locations. The “Gate Pass” was developed together, which identifies the truck driver and is intended to guarantee him access and departure without delay.

Kick-off in May in Hamburg

From May 2, this digital pass will replace the old “trucker card” in Hamburg. Bremerhaven and Wilhelmshaven then quickly follow. Eurogate CEO Michael Blach talks about new standards that are thus being set for the Eurogate Group.

The app works on all standard mobile phones or tablets. It identifies the driver, plans trips and gives instructions on site. And it is able to communicate with other systems in the logistics chain.

No paperwork and less waiting

In future, drivers will save themselves the paperwork required to register. Eurogate and Conroo promise that they will be processed faster and there should be less waiting time in a queue. Since the driver only has to leave the truck for the loading process, safety at the terminal is also increased.
