When Felix Paul Czerny saw the resource wastage caused by the paper clutter in the TriCon container terminal in Nuremberg, the idea for his start-up Conroo was born.

DVZ: What prompted you to enter the logistics industry with your start-up?

Felix Paul Czerny: We had a solution on how to significantly reduce resource wastage at loading docks and among truck drivers using technology. That ultimately led us into the logistics sector.

What do you see as the greatest strength/weakness of logistics?

The main strength lies in the pragmatism and solution-oriented approach of all actors along the supply chain – everyone works together, and new solutions benefit all. A weakness is that many actors in the supply chain operate in historically grown, proprietary IT systems that function in themselves but do not communicate with other participants along the logistics chain.

What solution does your company offer, and how does it change logistics?

We ensure efficient resource utilization by digitally connecting truck drivers with loading docks via the Conroo app or interface. With our Truck-visit web app, we offer the ability to control access, slots, and depots. One can imagine it as a real-time control tower that digitally manages truck traffic. Soon, we will introduce the Conroo GatePass, digitizing the current analog access authorization to seaports, the “Trucker Card” – including at Eurogate in Hamburg, Bremerhaven, and Wilhelmshaven. This makes terminal operations more efficient and secure.

What short- and medium-term business goals have you set for yourself?

We aim to integrate many more terminals, depots, and loading docks both domestically and internationally.
