In cooperation with Conroo, terminal operator Eurogate is implementing a digital solution for the verification of truck drivers. The trucker card, which drivers have used to register at terminals until now, will gradually be replaced by the digital app solution developed by the startup Conroo. Starting today, the Gate Pass solution by Conroo will be introduced as the first step at the Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg (CTH). From May onwards, the new process for container delivery at the Eurogate terminal will become mandatory.

The trucker card, which previously served as access authorization, will lose its validity at the Hamburg location on May 2, 2024. Bremen and Wilhelmshaven are set to follow immediately, along with other international Eurogate locations. According to company information, the app solution has already proven itself at numerous terminal and depot locations in the DACH region, including those of Deutsche Bahn, Swissterminal, and TriCon.

Sustainability and Security through Digitalization

“We are opting for a solution that has proven itself at hinterland terminals and depots and are utilizing the digitalization of the trucker card to significantly improve processes at the terminal for both truck drivers and us as terminal operators,” explains Jannis Grantz, project manager at the EUROGATE Group.

The app solution supports all common mobile devices. According to Conroo, the entire process from registration through digital verification of the driver to DAKOSY tour planning (TR02) and on-site instructions is covered. Additional interfaces of the system would integrate involved stakeholders along the logistics chain, including TMS, platforms like driveMybox, as well as depots and warehouses.

Optimization of the Registration Process
With Gate Pass, Conroo states that the cumbersome and paper-intensive administrative process for registering truck drivers will become obsolete. At the same time, the handling of driving assignments is facilitated and expedited through early information and comparisons regarding gates and lanes. For drivers, it is expected to result in fewer queues and wait times, more time for other assignments, and increased safety, as they will no longer need to leave the truck except for the loading process.
